Behavioral Assessments:
Comprehensive in-home or in school behavioral health assessments are conducted by clinically licensed behavioral health providers. These ONE TIME Assessments are face to face interviews with the family. They typically last for approximately one and a half to three hours, and include the child/children, parents, and siblings. The interview is a structured question and answer session that obtains the necessary information to determine the best possible plan of care for the child and family.
The interview gathers information regarding the history of behavioral problems, concerns about risk, school performance, social involvement, medical history, family constellation and specific preferences for care. A Needs Assessment is conducted to determine family strengths as well as specific needs. At the end of the interview, the therapist and the family together agree on the most appropriate plan of action to address the family’s concerns for the child/children.
