Family Counseling:
Family Counseling typically involves the child and parents in a therapy session. Sessions are conducted in the home or in a confidential location within the community. The licensed or masters prepared therapist guides the family through a process of conversation that helps determine the issues that are negatively impacting them.
By each family member identifying and verbalizing their concerns in a supportive environment, therapy can help reduce stress within the home. A child’s acting out behaviors typically lessen as home life becomes more comfortable. Conversely, school and social problems can negatively impact a child’s ability to participate within the family setting. With effective clinical interventions, families experience significantly less stress and enjoy a happier home situation.
